The ideal percentage of strong starting hands in poker depends on various factors. However, the most favorable hands typically belong to these categories: Pairs, Aces, Connectors, Gappers, and other high-quality hands.

In the poker hand rankings, the most valuable starting hand is a Royal Flush, consisting of the Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten, all of the same suit. In Texas Hold'em poker, the premier starting hands are undoubtedly pocket pairs, with pocket aces being the top choice, followed by pocket kings and pocket queens. These pocket pairs (Ace-Ace, King-King, Queen-Queen) are the strongest hands to have during the preflop betting round. Following them in strength are the top suited connectors, such as AKs, and medium pairs. However, the best starting hand for you also hinges on your table position (early position, middle position, or late position), as your position determines the relative strength of your hand.
